Do you praise God with such ease when life is going well? Does a flip switch when a friend is diagnosed with cancer, a family member loses their precious baby, or your husband suddenly gets laid off? A truth of scripture God has been laying on my heart is that we are called to praise God at all times, and through every circumstance.
The devil loves it when we become embittered, as well as discontent. And oh how it is so easy to justify our sinful mindset when life happenings are just not going our comfort-seeking way. But what if we responded with grace?
When humility and surrender collide in unexpected and seemingly less than ideal situations, God gives such peace. Praise comes so natural. Even though our hearts are being unraveled and we should be a mess, God is our stability. We praise Him not for what we wish we were, or where we wish to be, but because of His unchanging character. His grace is sufficient and faithfulness is unwavering.
“Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.” Psalm 145:2
“Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.” Psalm 42:11
